That sweet round thing - Tang Yuan (Sweet Peanut Dumpling in Ginger Soup)

That's one long title!

Today's recipe was adapted from Cook, Snap, Savour's adaptation of Rasa Malaysia. Ever bought an ingredient for a certain recipe and then been left with so much of it you're not quite sure what to do? Well, that happens to me far too often! This time it was glutinous rice flour from the mochi I made, and a sesame and mixed nut mixture from Chinese New Year Dinner.

These little sweet things are called Tang Yuan in Chinese meaning, sweet & round. They're usually made for special occasions though you can find them all year round in various food stalls and the variety offered is astounding!

Refresh - Sunny Citrus Bars

Sunny indeeed. Far more than I can say for the weather here in England! There hasn't been a day without rain except on Saturday! Quite a summer...
Nonetheless, this recipe is a keeper. Truly a breath of fresh air with all that citrus and sugar!

Procrastination - Bread & Butter Pudding

Million & one apologies. I've been a mega procrastinator. :/
Guess it's the string of shifts I have looming over me that has made me really kick back on my past 2 days off. Whatever the excuse, I feel terribly guilty.
Okay, enough rambling.

Partners: Cherry Cake Squares

I just love this recipe!
The cherry with the almond? Brilliant! The flavours stand out on their own and yet compliment each other perfectly. (: Definitely a keeper.
I made this in great bulk for another of J's gathering but got to keep quite a bit of it for the girls at work and for the tummies at home. Yummy!

Pulled Pork Burgers + Pear Tarte Tatin

Well well well, I must say I am quite impressed with myself! :D
Last night I cooked for 10 people and the food was goooood. Just 2 courses though, but who could enjoy any more than that and not feel stuffed?

A few weeks ago I tried Simply Bread's Pulled Pork Sandwich and decided that I'd have to make that sometime. I had heard of the awesome meat before from Lick The Bowl Good and decided to follow that recipe - of course, I tweaked it a lil'.

Chocolate Souffle

Souffles aren't as difficult as they sound and not half as posh. At least mine weren't. Probably cos I didn't do my homework properly and added the egg yolks way too early. Sigh.

Lesson learnt; DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!
