Play - Graham Cupcakes

Hello there!
Figured that before I go upstairs to play with Elliot and bake to my heart's content, I'd better settle down and write a post first. Oh the bliss of a day off with nothing fixed! :D

So, if you remember from my last post about Elliot's 1st Month, there was this rather odd cupcake...

Excitement - Cinammon Sugared Snickerdoodles

I've got my first bakesale coming up tomorrow morning! Terribly excited.
It's for the SGH needy patients' fund and I'm donating 2 large cakes to be sold in slices. Won't be there in person as I have other commitments but I just can't wait to hear how it goes from my colleagues. Yay!
Okay, back to the post.

Wrecked - Pecan Sandies

Well, well, I'm approaching my final of 3 sets of nights. Honestly, night shift wrecks the poor body. It's like your hormones and stuff go kookoo. Sigh.
Baking usually sets things right. So I settled to try my hand hand at one of my first bakesale worthy recipes.
I walked into Times one day on the way home and just picked this book up cos I wanted something to smile about and this just got my beaming! :D

Break - Spring Biscotti

Or as Adora describes it in her blog: "pistachio cranberry biscotti infused with orange zest and white chocolate"
Haha. But yes, that is exactly what it is. Though I was disappointed that the white chocolate was hardly noticeable.  Though it probably added to the flavour nonetheless.

Break? Yup! I'm off to Britain for a 2 week family holiday starting Saturday. Exciting much. Have worked hard for this holiday for 2 years and am not gonna let anything keep me from going!

Zzing - Lemon Biscuits

These were just wonderful! There's just something about lemons that is so refreshing. And these biscuits proved to be full of lemon without being sour.
I would have piped the biscuits out though to ensure absolutely round biscuits.

At this point I decided to make my own piping bag for the icing. Making it wasn't a problem. Using it was an entirely different challenge.
