Energise, Excite

It's terrible isn't it? I haven't posted anything for over a month!
I'm currently in England with family and itching to bake something. Before I left Singapore I did a load of baking: cookies, cakes & such. Just didn't take photos. Silly really.
But I'll be back soon and, oh boy, do I have tonnes to do. Fun fun fun!
Anyway, thought I'd just share somethings with you while I'm here.
In England grocery shopping is sheer bliss. Good food is in abundance. Great variety of bread, vegetables, meats & so much more. And it's all so affordable! Of course if you were to constantly be converting the pounds to dollars then you'd never buy a crumb. Anyway, that's beside the point.

Personal Preference - Chocolate Chip Cookie Lesson

Hello there!
I don't know about you but I love reading recepies. I love reading about how they work, the science behind it and stuff. And when people explain why things work the way they do, I get ubber excited to try it out myself.
So which website am I talking about for this post? Design Mom. This post to be exact. It's absolutely brilliant how Gabrielle explains the very simple but tricky Chocolate Chip Cookie.
Let's call it the Triple C for short.

A Long Time Coming - Flour(s)

Hello there!

Here's the long promised post about flours.

So, just so you know, there are many, and I mean many, types of flours used in baking.

Flour is broadly known as wheat flour. The variations start with the protein content of the kernels used to make the flour. The harder the kernel, the higher the protein content. The softer the kernel, the lower the protein content. In flour, gluten is important.

Fresh - Vanilla Marshmallow Cupcakes

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..."
1 Peter 1:3
Hello!
I know it's late, but Happy Easter! (:
This creation was meant to commemorate easter. I guess it still does.
Anyway, so I've found a fantastic fluffy vanilla cake and guess what? My frosting worked! No fancy meringue, ganache etc. Just a butter based frosting. Brilliant!
